interview and war 2003-03-24 @ 4:58 p.m. Hmm a month and not much to say. I just got home from a job interview. I think it went pretty well. I had lots to say anyway, which if you know me, that says a lot, since usually I don't. This was my first real interview. My previous two jobs were pretty well just handed me. The first where I worked for three years at a music store it literally was handed to me. I filled out the application form after I was hired. My second, and current job, as an inventory clerk I thought I was going for an interview but it turned out that I was just told what the job was and asked how that sounded to me, and then it was mine. I like this kind of getting a job, lol. Today however, I just spent half an hour in a little room with two women, one asking questions and one writing. I answered as best I could and I think I did well, but I'm no closer to knowing whether I have a new job than I was before I went. I should be getting a call in a few days. To you who said you would hire me, thank you very much, you gave me a little confidence. Something I am greatly in need of when it comes to jobs. Surprisingly my nerves were good, nervous when I left home, fairly calm when I got there, and in the ten minutes waiting to be taken for my interview (they were late) I calmed completely. Sounded almost sure of myself, lol. Hopefully in a day or two I will have more news... Day 5 of the war. What's there to say? I'm against it but agree Saddam's time as ruler is up. I do think there must have been a better way though, seeing as how pretty well all the world including many Iraqis also agree Saddam is finished. I don't think there was any immediate threat to make war the only way. And now how many people are going to loose their lives and how much revenge is going to be sought because Bush pushed for this giving no real way for war to be avoided. The altimatum was rediculous, sure Saddam could run but who would have opened their country to him? and knowing what kind of ruler Saddam is it's obvious he would never leave his position of power just to save his people from war. He may know by the end he is going to die in this, but he'll be dying as the president caught in a war and not cornered in some cave somewhere after a man hunt because he went into exile. He's about using his power not walking away from that power to face the same fate of death. It's a needless war brought on by another president who is about using his power, perhaps with better intentions but I don't see Bush out on the front lines fighting for what he is talking about. It's pretty simple to say "Let's go" when you're sitting in your office on the other side of the world. I only hope not too many people, from either side, loose their lives and Bush lives up to his word of giving aid to the war torn country when this is all over. War is not the answer. |
