Number three on the countdown
2002-03-23 @ 12:54 a.m.

Well number three is out of the way. Yup, I came out to S tonight. And once again I nearly chickened out. She came home around 7:30pm and told me all about her day and we talked about a lot of other stuff and in fact we talked until around 9:30. I kept trying to say it, it was on the tip of my tongue, but so many other topics were being discussed that I just couldn't say it. And then my other roommate came home and I went to the store with her and told her I had been trying. She told me to get some balls, in a nice supportive way of course, she knows this is hard. So we came home and S and M talked for a bit and I had pretty much given up on tonight so I came in my room and L was online, I told her my troubles and she told me to go do it that she would still be online when I got back. So, again I trudged up the stairs to discover that S had gone to her room, I quickly talked to M and she encouraged me to, so back downstairs I went and knocked on her door. I was committed. So I did it the simple way again, just telling her I had something to tell her and then saying it. Just bringing it out of nowhere I kind of shocked her, but after the initial shock she was fine and we ended up talking about it for two hours. About how I know, if we are born gay, how will I tell my mom(that was a big concern for her, and me as well). We talked about marriage, adopting, stereotypes, laws, others that are gay, and a lot about coming out to others. It was a great and helpful conversation. And again I feel so free after telling her, now of my four roommates three know and the fourth I don't care to tell. She'll find out someday, just not from me. So in my house I am out with the people it matters, I can for once feel like I am not lying when I am in my own home. It's an awesome feeling. And sure enough, even after two hours, when I came back my grrl was still online. She's the best. Hopefully next weekend I will get the chance to tell my sister. Keep your fingers crossed for me;) Take care.
